New Year’s Eve Star Robbie Maddison to Miss Red Bull
X-Fighters’ Curtain Raiser in Mexico

Aussie FMX hero Robbie Maddison will not be able to ride the first stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2009 due to an unexpectedly slow recovery from a leg operation carried out a couple of weeks ago right after his giant News Years jump in Vegas. Robbie was quoted at the time as being optimistic about being back on the bike in time for the event on 27 March, but continued problems mean he will have to miss out on the traditional season opener in Mexico City.

Maddison’s replacement will be Adam Jones (USA). Jones is the reigning AST Tour Champion 2008, an X-Games gold medallist and has more than a few crazy tricks up his sleeve as he looks to impress judges and riders alike in front of a packed house at the Plaza de Toros Monumental.

As a sign of respect and tribute to Jeremy Lusk his start number will not be replaced for the event in Mexico City, meaning a field 11 rather than the usual 12 riders will start the event.

Rider List Red Bull X-Fighters Mexico City:

Mat Rebeaud
Adam Jones
Dany Torres
